Every year the Grimsby Tennis Club holds a charity event to raise funds for a local charity that the GTC Executive feels has the greatest need within our community. This year the Executive has chosen to support the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital Foundation. The work to construct the new hospital is underway and significant funds are required to furnish the new hospital with state-of-the-art equipment. This cause will be of direct benefit to the residents of Grimsby and our surrounding communities.
We will be holding an organized tennis fair on Monday September 11 from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM. The event is open to non-members and will be advertised to all tennis clubs in the SW Region. The pickleball group at the Community Centre will also be invited. Please feel free to invite friends / neighbors who have some experience with racquet sports.
Our club pro, Joel Cruz and Anne Kravchenko will run the program and keep everyone moving. We will have a Spec Tennis court set up and Rosemary Goodwin and Lee – Anne Facey Crowther will give an introduction to this new activity.
Events at the fair will include “Cardio Tennis”, Spec Tennis, Serving Target Skills with prizes and court drills run by our pros. We may also have a pickleball court set up for people to try.
There will be an admission fee of $20.00 per person which will go entirely to the Fundraising Campaign. There will be two 60-minute sessions with a 30 minute dinner break between the sessions. We will be serving beef on a bun, Caesar salad, soft drinks, coffee and tea. Dinner tickets will be available for purchase for $10.00. All proceeds go entirely to the charity funds.

Registration will open at midnight on August 1. and will close at midnight on September 10.
